Some sushi and the Fujifilm X100S

I love sushi. And I love the Fujifilm X100S. And combining the two turned out to be a very pleasant experience. I did a commercial photoshoot for a client, making interior and architecural pictures, and shooting in the excellent Nagomi Restaurant and Bar at Hamar in Norway was part of the assignment. The X100S is now always with me on commercial shoots, and I must say that I'm using it more and more. Like good sushi, it's light and has a great taste of quality.

Can't say I was prepared to find sushi as good as this at all when getting there. But after having eaten there myself, and also read and heard about Nagomi and the story behind it, I'm convinced that this has to be world class sushi! After many years at Nobu, the famous Manhattan restaurant, Danny Thai chose Hamar and Nagomi as his new place. Thank God, since Hamar is a lot closer to me than Manhattan...

I just loved shooting with the X100S here, and the 35mm equivalent lens coverage is fantastic for interiors. Been doing it more and more latelly, and the trust in the X100S for commercial shooting is rock solid. I also use it for close ups, details and mood shots.

All shots here are raw files that have been tweaked slightly i Adobe Camera Raw, but I have to say that the JPGs straight out of camera also looked great! I shot them with the Pro Neg Hi profile, and probably could have used several of them without any tweaking. But I prefer giving my files some slight personal tweaks.

Hope you enjoy them, and if you're looking for some great sushi in Norway, Hamar is the place to be! You've just got to try the crispy salmon and some spicy halibut. Simply the best sushi I've ever eaten! Period!
